Line Halvorsen

Associate Professor Line Halvorsen (1976) is a curator and artist based in Oslo, Norway. She graduated from the Art Academy in Bergen and Malmö, Sweden, in 2005. Previously she studied literature at the University of Tromsø and film in the islands of Lofoten. Halvorsen has mainly been involved in the language between film and video art, but is more and more concerned about the role the artist. She is currently working on a project where she is looking at storytelling and the myths related to the artist. The myth of the artist has been constructed through stereotypical ideas about how the genius through intoxication and sleep deprivation reaches mysterious highs by working alone in an attic. In addition Halvorsen teaches at the Academy in Oslo, KHiO and in Bergen, KHIB. Since 2001 she has been involved in numerous projects as a curator, artist, and writer.

Line visited apexart from Oslo, Norway, from November 18 - December 17, 2009. She was recommended by Will Bradley, a curator, writer, and musician in Oslo, Norway. Visit her Resident Page for more information.
