The apexart International Residency Program aims to remove creative individuals from their studio work and professional practice and instead engage them in a 30-day cultural and educational exploration of a new city. Participants, from different disciplines and at different points in their careers, are recommended by noted individuals in their fields who are familiar with their activities and believe their practice could benefit from a non-working visit abroad. apexart’s Inbound Residency invites individuals who have never been to New York City to come participate in a custom-made 30-day schedule that includes hidden gems, local activities, classes, and meetings with individuals engaged in creative outlets throughout the city. apexart’s Outbound Residency reverses the process and sends New York-based artists abroad to various locations around the world. This blog records the thoughts, sights, and activities of both Inbound and Outbound Residents.
